Privacy
For Stargazer for iPhone and iPad, and this website. Last updated October 17, 2026.
The short version. No ads, no tracking, no analytics and no accounts. Your progress stays on your device. The only things kept on our server are levels and skins you choose to send in, the name you type with them, and reports about levels, which do not say who sent them.
Who we are
Stargazer is made by one person, Jason Page. Questions or requests: jasonepage@gmail.com.
In the app
- Your progress stays on your device. Levels finished, best moves, settings and the name you last typed for a level are saved on your iPhone or iPad only.
- Reminders are on your device. If you turn on a reminder, your phone schedules it. Nothing is sent to us.
- Replay videos are made on your device. They only leave it if you share or save them yourself.
Levels from the web
The app's "From the web" screen and this website use our level server. Here is everything it handles.
- Browsing and playing levels. Your device asks the server for levels. These requests carry no name, account or device ID. When you open a level, its play count goes up by one, with nothing saying who played.
- Sending in a level or skin. We keep the level or skin, its title, the name you type with it, its difficulty and the time it was sent. After a review, these are shown publicly to everyone. The name is optional and shows as "Anonymous" if you leave it blank. Please do not type your full real name if you do not want it public.
- Likes. When you like or dislike a level, we only add one to its total. We do not keep who voted; your device remembers your own vote so you can change it.
- Reports. When you report a level or skin, we keep which one, the reason you picked and the time. We do not keep who sent the report.
- IP addresses. Like any website, our server sees the internet address of each request. We use it for a few minutes to slow down spam, and we do not save it. Our hosting company may keep it in short-term server logs (see below).
On this website
- Your browser remembers a few choices on your own computer, such as the skin you picked to play with and the name you last typed for an upload. They are not sent to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.
- The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google sees your internet address when a page loads, under Google's privacy policy.
- No cookies, no analytics and no ads.
Who else is involved
We do not sell or share your information. These companies run parts of the service:
- Apple: the App Store.
- Render: hosts the level server and this website. Its servers may keep standard request logs, including internet addresses, for a limited time under Render's privacy policy.
- Google Fonts: serves the fonts on this website.
How long we keep things, and deleting them
- Levels and skins you send in are kept until they are taken down. To have one of yours removed, email us its link or title and when you sent it, and we will delete it.
- Levels and skins that are rejected in review are not shown to anyone, and we may delete them.
- Reports are deleted once we have looked at them.
- Everything kept on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Children
Stargazer is for everyone. We do not ask for anyone's age, name or contact details. The only text anyone can send us is a level or skin title and a name, which we review before they go public.
Changes
If this changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
